Above please find the information concerning the funeral for our Father, John Sherod, who died on Friday 3/18/16 (just 3 days before his 89th birthday). He passed away peacefully.
Please pass on the information to the good folks there at St. John's. Mom and Dad both enjoyed their years as parishioners there at St. JOHN'S.
If anyone wants to reach out to the Family they can contact me, since I am the oldest son.

17 and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. 18 There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. 19 Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), "I thirst." 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Today, once again, we hear of terror attacks carried out by Satan's minions known as ISIS or radical Islam, or whatever you want to call them. If there was every evidence that Satan, sin, and hell are all real, this is it. You can't deny the reality of evil in the world. It has been around since Satan fell from heaven and tempted Eve with the thought that she could be like God, knowing good and evil. Before she ate that fruit she only knew good. Evil didn't exist in the world. Since then evil has grown and run rampant.
And so we pray that God will give courage and peace to those who are dealing with yet another tragedy due to evil. And we especially pray for those who are mourning the loss of loved ones due to that evil.
It is in the middle of that evil, that Jesus says, "It is finished." Even though his death was in a different time and place, it was for ALL people and for ALL time! It was even for the tragedy in Brussels this morning. It was for all the tragedies in your life. All of these tragedies will come to an end on the day that Jesus returns.
What does the fact that it is finished mean for you personally? It means that there is no need for you to pay restitution for all your crimes (sins) against God. Jesus has paid restitution. It means that you can be certain that all the requirements of the law have been fulfilled on your behalf. It means that you are no longer responsible for fulfilling the law for yourself, to save yourself. It means that you are loved forever, and that love will never go away. It means that you will go to be with Jesus when you take your last breath. It means that you can have that "peace that passes all understanding."
The death of Jesus means eternal life for you! Have joy, peace, and comfort in that today and throughout this Holy Week!
Prayer: Lord, bless me to remember your death with fondness and admiration so that others may know Your love through me. We also ask that you would bless the people of Brussels today as they deal with this terror attack and the anxiety, stress, anger, sadness, and fear that comes with it. Use this tragedy to bring people to you and grow your kingdom. Help all of us to know that even though it may look like this terror is increasing, it will never defeat You or destroy Your kingdom, but it will only make it grow and hasten Your coming. Amen.

YESTERDAY'S BIBLE QUIZ: Who was Jephthah?

30 HOUR FAMINE THURSDAY AT NOON- FRIDAY AT 6PM!! ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!!
I would like to do a 30 Hour Famine with a lock in at church this Thursday and Friday for our youth!
As part of it I'd like to clean up our part of hwy 47 to start it all off.

(of which I am a member and on the board along with Allan Dreyer) is going to be giving away 70 bookcases stocked with books in April to children who are in the head Start Program in Warren County. For SHARON GARRETT a friend to some at St. John's, and soon-to-be member, who fell and broke both of her ankles and is recovering at Delmar Gardens, O'Fallon.
For DON BRAZEE as he has been moved to Breeze Park in Weldon Spring for rehab and to receive his cancer treatment.
For MARIAH, a granddaughter of Pat Jaeger's best friend, her leukemia is in remission and she is moving on tot he next course of treatment.
For PASTOR MCCRACKEN, from Trinity in Troy, who is on a two month leave to heal from cancer treatments.
For PASTOR PIPER, from St. Paul, New Melle, as he recovers from a heart attack he had while running a 5K in Florida.
For DENISE SCHLESSELMANN as she is in need of more funding to continue her mission work in the Czech Republic.
