Kansas City Area Blind Mission: Lutheran Braille Workers


In January 2013, Calvary Lutheran Church at 7500 Oak in Kansas City took over as the host church for the Kansas City Area Blind Mission luncheon once sponsored for several years by Holy Cross Lutheran Church in North Kansas City. Calvary serves as an Outreach Center under the Lutheran Braille Workers organization that is sponsored by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The Young Swedish Singers-2016 Tour





The Young Swedish Singers, a 34 member gospel singing group from Hässleholm, province of Skåne, Sweden, will appear in concert at The Lutheran High School of Kansas City, 12411 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64145 / 816-241-5478 at 7 pm on Monday, June 20 and 10 am on Tuesday, June 21. The group's tour includes stops in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio from June 16 – July 3, 2016.  Read more . . .

What if we as Christians prided ourselves in "going the extra mile?" Even better yet – what if we ARE the extra mile! What if that is our motto? It's all about a willingness – a value system. I know, we all need parameters and Sabbath rest, we all need to keep things in perspective and not get overloaded or feel we are being used or taken advantage of. I understand that. I guess I'm just talking about having an attitude of giving, and of helpfulness, and of genuine care. We can do that – I know we can.

High School Youth Invited to Concordia Seminary's Vocatio Visitation Event


Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will host the weeklong visitation event Vocatio for high school youth June 25-30 on campus. The event is a fun opportunity for students entering grades nine through 12 to explore God's calling in their lives and their future vocations through studying theology, learning from Seminary professors and engaging in thoughtful conversation.  Read more . . .

Encourage and Equip (E2) Conferences
The Missouri District will be offering five conferences this fall to support our congregations and lay leaders. The purpose of the conferences will be to encourage, equip and connect volunteers in our congregations through presentations, partnerships and networking. The topics will cover everything from youth ministry and Sunday School to finances and elders. More details will be forthcoming! For now, mark your calendars and plan to attend a conference near you.

Lutheran Singles Association
For Single Adults: A weekend of food, fellowship, & fun!
Lutherans Singles Association is holding their biennial Conference at Bethel Lutheran Church, in Morton, IL on June 24-26. The keynote speaker is Author and Speaker Chad Bird. Cost is $90 for the entire conference (includes, snacks Friday, lunch Saturday, dinner/theatre Saturday evening and program costs, does not include sleeping rooms). Daily rates are Friday $20, Saturday day $40, Saturday evening $30.00. Dinner Saturday is at the Pizza Ranch Buffet and Theatre is Corn Stock Theater, Peoria, IL where we will see a live performance of Cheaper by the Dozen. Concordia Plan Services Employer Benefit Workshop

Concordia Plan Services (CPS) wants members to be able to focus on what matters most to them – ministry, family, well-being. The Concordia Health Plan (CHP) is able to help them do just that!
