DEVOTION: "How long will you limp between two opinions?  If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him."  The Story p. 204

So many people, including many Christians, even members of St. John's, are limping between two opinions when it comes to God and His Word.  They want to follow God's Word completely, but they have trouble, because what they have been taught by the world about things like evolution, sexuality, and many other things do not agree with what the world says.  So they are torn.  They don't want to believe that what they have been taught and believed for so long is wrong, but they don't want to distrust the Scriptures either.

What to do?  I know!  Why not go by what has been proven for centuries to be the truth?  Why not go by what has stood the test of time?  Why not go by GOD'S WORD?!!  It seems like a no brainer... An Almighty, Supreme, All Knowing, All Present God VS. A fallible,  incorrect, imperfect sinner.  Guess who I'm going to choose?

It's not easy.  It may mean that you have to challenge and even lose some friendships .  It may mean that you may have to get rid of some very long held beliefs.  It may mean that you may have to turn all the way around from where you were going so that you can turn to God.  Let me assure you!!  IT IS WORTH IT!

Nothing gives you more comfort and peace than knowing and abiding by the real truth.  Nothing gives you more satisfaction than living for someone and something other than yourself.  Nothing else will get you to eternal life!  Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.  No one comes to the Father except through Him!

Quit limping!  Commit your ways to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will direct your paths!

Prayer: Lord God make me surrender to you that you may move me in the right direction.  Amen.

PASTOR NEEDS SPONSORS FOR HIS BIKE ACROSS KANSAS!!
I will be biking across part of Kansas, about 220 miles in all, on June 7-9 to raise money for Leadachild.org.  Lead a Child is a LCMS recognized service organization that provides funding for kids to attend schools, many of them Christian schools, in third world countries.  It has provided A LOT for ministries and missions to help kids who would otherwise have NO EDUCATION in places like Guatemala, Kenya, Uganda, Mexico, and many other places.  Please consider supporting me so that we can continue to support children throughout the world!  As of January 1, I am also on the board of directors for this organization.
