DEVOTION:  Psalm 146 English Standard Version (ESV)

Put Not Your Trust in Princes

146 Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Put not your trust in princes,
    in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
    on that very day his plans perish.

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord his God,
who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever;
    who executes justice for the oppressed,
    who gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets the prisoners free;
    the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the sojourners;
    he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
    but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

10 The Lord will reign forever,
    your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the Lord!

DISCIPLE MAKERS BEGINS THIS SUNDAY AT 10:45

If you want to learn the Bible for the first time or all over again, please join us for this!  This coming Sunday we are going to take a step back and look at what the Bible is, whose it is, what it does, and who it's all about.

Come enjoy some fun, some fellowship and a  whole lotta Jesus!!

SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADERS: this is your confirmation class for this year.  Every other year we go through the Scriptures, so this is simply taking the place of "The Story" that we had been using the last several years.

                HIGH SCHOOLERS: it's never too late to learn the Scriptures like you should, and because many of you are planning on going to the National Youth Gathering in July of 2019, I am expecting you to participate in your faith and be at Disciple Makers as much as possible.

                PRESCHOOLERS-SIXTH GRADERS: Confirmation really begins the moment your child is baptized, as from little on they need to know the Scriptures.   Disciple Makers is a prime opportunity and tool to grow your kids in the faith. Your kids need to know their Bibles and so do you!  Get them into it!!  Decide that this is going to be the year that you begin a new discipline of learning the Scriptures TOGETHER as a family.

                Here's a sample schedule so you know what to expect.

5-10 min- Opening with songs or videos or both

20-25 min- Lesson of the Day, this will include all different sorts of learning tools: songs, skits, games, etc.

15-20 min-  age appropriate activity, craft, or game ending with- Family Faith5 and Free time

Always remember that I love you and my only goal is to make sure you're all in heaven with me some day!
