FW: Update: Dolores DeBlaze

Good Afternoon Friends and Family -

Mom came out of surgery yesterday morning at ~10:30 am and did well.  She got rid of several tubes today, but still has her chest tube in place.   This morning she walked the halls with her physical therapist.  She may get to go home Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

Last night she stayed in the Observation Unit (O.U.) for thoracic surgery on 7th floor of Barnes Jewish Hospital in downtown St. Louis, and was moved to room 7101-A this afternoon.

We can't thank you enough for the multitude of love and supportive prayers!!

From Libby's daughter Teresa

Hello friends & family,

Mom did have to go back into surgery yesterday around 2:00 p.m. for a little while.  Dr. Blucher the surgeon wanted to err on the side of caution and stop the bleeding. He said it took one stitch in the incision and that took care of it.  We were/are grateful mom had not come around so she did not know she went in for round 2.  We were allowed to peek in at her that afternoon and then we came home.  We called the nurse around 8:30 and were told she was coming out of the anestethia but not awake yet.  We called this morning (all three of us slept much better last night BTW) at 7:30 a.m. and Renee talked to the nurse.  They took the ventilator out around midnight and mom is not in pain.  The nurse was in mom's room so Renee got to talk to her for a minute and she said she was "OK,  well I don't know how I am..."  We found out we can see her after 9:30 a.m. today.

We know she's come through this so well because of the great doctors and staff at Mercy and mostly because of all of you praying and thinking about her.  My dad is doing pretty well - can't get him to not worry so much but that will be better after mom is at home. I'll keep you updated.

Love and Blessings Teresa, Larry & Renee
