DEVOTION: Mark 1:21-28 English Standard Version (ESV)
Jesus Heals a Man with an Unclean Spirit
Jesus has power, more power than the president, more power than the biggest truck engine there is, more power than your mom. He has ultimate power. When he says something, not only do people listen, but stuff happen. He commanded this unclean spirit to come out of the man. In a different passage he turned water into wine. In yet another passage he raised Lazarus from the dead. The most important thing for us that he did was defeat the devil, death, and hell by his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead.
The Scriptures don't lie. They have been proven over and over again from generation to generation. It's your choice whether you believe it or not, I suggest you do, but it's still your choice. That's how powerful Jesus is, he can do all that he has done for you and still give you a choice as to whether you accept it or not.
I encourage and urge you to believe and trust in Jesus today! If he can really do all that he did in the Bible, he can certainly forgive all your stupidity, selfishness, and sins, and bring you to eternal life with him!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for using your power to save me and all believers. Help me to trust in you more and more each day. Amen.

YESTERDAY'S QUIZ: How many times did Pharaoh agree to let the Israelites go out of Egypt to worship the Lord only to take it back?
From Pat King: Pharaoh promised Moses 10 times they could leave, then changing his mind at the last minute. Actually, the dude knew he wasn't going to let them high-tail it out of town when he made all those promises. It was just typical political double-talk. So, they had it, even back then.
From Don Nolte: I think it was 9 times that Pharaoh changed his mind.
TODAY'S QUIZ: What were they to do with the lamb at the first Passover?
