Mission Mondays:CAAN

On August 6, Lord of Life (Chesterfield) and St. Paul's (Wildwood) kicked off a new joint ministry effort called We CAAN (We Celebrate All Abilities Now). The program, hosted by Lord of Life, reaches out to young adults with special needs in the community in an effort to share with them the love of Christ found in Gospel. Ultimately the program seeks to incorporate those with special needs into the regular life of the church. Read more . . .

New Missouri District Disaster Response Coordinator: Rev. Charles Schultz

The new Missouri District Disaster Response Coordinator is Rev. Charles Schultz, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Imperial, Mo. Pastor Schultz is a native Chicagoan and an avid sports fan. He and his wife Colleen have three children and four grandchildren. Pastor Schultz is a 2009 graduate of Concordia Seminary – St. Louis, is the southeast director of the Missouri Fire Chaplain Corps., and has been active in disaster response in recent years.  Read more . . .
Shaped By the Cross Lutheran's Altar Has A New Home

Onthe right in the above picture, Pastor Erik Rottmann, Grace, Versailles, and his son Aaron load the baptismal font from Shaped by the Cross Lutheran Church, Laurie, Mo., for delivery to Jesus Our Savior Lutheran Outreach (JOSLO) in Winnebago, Nebraska. JOSLO, a mission to native Americans, received the altar, pulpit and font when Shaped by the Cross Lutheran Church closed earlier this year. Reformation Pilgrimage Walk

September 16 and 17, you are invited to walk with us from St. Charles to New Melle, celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and the mission and ministry of the Lutheran congregations that sprang up from the original immigration to New Melle 178 years ago. Read more . . .

The Missouri District will be offering five conferences this fall to support our congregations and lay leaders. The purpose of the conference will be to encourage, equip and connect volunteers in our congregations through practical presentations, partnerships and networking. 
Five dates & locations across the district! A wide variety of breakout sessions! Join us for a wide variety of interesting topics to assist your congregation and its leaders.
All location times are 8:00 a.m. – Noon and registration is only $10 per person.

Grace Place Wellness Church Worker Retreat
October 17-21, Big Cedar Lodge, Ridgedale MO

The Missouri District is partnering with Grace Place Wellness to host a retreat for active church workers. It will be held at Big Cedar Lodge on Oct. 17 – 21, 2016. The 5-day, 4-night retreat will be held at Big Cedar Lodge, a grand wilderness resort, reminiscent of lavish, turn-of-the-century Adirondack hunting lodges, but with all the modern conveniences. The only cost for the participants is a $250 registration fee and transportation to and from the retreat facility. Meals and lodging included. There are seven spots open so first come, first serve. 2016 Missouri District Pastors' Conference
District Pastors will meet at Tan-Tar-A in Osage Beach on October 31 - November 1 for the Missouri District Pastors' conference "God's Gift of Marriage in Troubled Times." CLICK HERE for more information and to register.

Missouri District Junior High Fall Retreat Rescued
October 28 - 30
The Missouri District Lutheran Jr High Retreat is returning this fall around the theme, "Rescued". Our focus this year is on baptism and the blessings we receive from this awesome gift of God.

Our presenter & worship leader is Rev. Joel Beyer, the pastor at Community Lutheran Church near San Diego, CA. And……The Relentless Project is returning to provide our music!

Mid-Missouri Lutheran Ministry

Scheduled for a hospital stay in Columbia? In addition to your pastor's spiritual ministry, the Rev. Richard Ingmire, chaplain for the Mid-Missouri Lutheran Ministry, is willing to minister to you. To ensure his visit, you are welcome to contact Chaplain Ingmire in advance of your hospitalization at 573-231-2424 (cell) or by email registry provided you register as Lutheran. This hospital ministry is provided by the Lutheran congregations in central Missouri.
