Nancy Allen's Head Shot
Nancy Allen
Nancy Allen is the author of the Ozarks Mystery Series, published by HarperCollins/Witness Impulse. She has the background required to tell the tales; she practiced law for fifteen years as Assistant Missouri Attorney General and Assistant Prosecutor in her native Ozarks.  She’s tried over thirty jury cases, including murder and sexual offenses, and is now a law professor at Missouri State University, as well as an author of legal thrillers.

Her debut novel, The Code of the Hills, was published in 2014 by HarperCollins. A Killing at the Creek came out in 2015; her third book, The Wages of Sin was released in April, 2016. The Ozarks Mysteries follow the career of Elsie Arnold, a tenacious (but flawed) Ozarks prosecutor.

Nancy is currently co-authoring with James Patterson on a legal thriller to be published in James Patterson’s BookShots series for Hachette/Little Brown.

MISSION:  Turning Point provides safety, shelter, and stabilizing support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

VISION:  Turning Point envisions a just culture of nonviolence â€" where people are equally valued, and where healthy relationships and self worth flourish.

DEVOTION:  Mark 16:1-8 English Standard Version (ESV)

The Resurrection

16 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?"And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you." And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Watch and share the good news!  Christ is risen!

YESTERDAY'S QUIZ:   Who is Hannah (from the Bible)?

A funny one from Sandy Robine:  So, on the heels of Don's answer yesterday, Hannah is the daughter of Naomi the soprano in the choir! Hahaha

Oh wow, this is getting really good now.  Hannah was the mother of Samuel.  And Samuel is the son of Naomi in the choir and the brother of Hannah!!!!!  YIKES!!!

The biblical Samuel was the son of Hannah who, before then, was childless.  She had vowed to God that if she could have a son that she would dedicate him to God.  I also read that Samuel was born to her and was in fact dedicated to God.  I also read that Samuel along with Samson were the only ones ever mentioned in the bible as being a Nazrite.  Did I read that correctly?

You sure can tell our Naomi, soprano on the choir, was a preacher's kid with all these family names. Hee hee.

Don Nolte's answer: Hannah ( in the Bible) was The mother of Samuel.  I Samuel 1 and 2

Blessed Holy Week and Easter to you all!

This Holy Week we travel with our Lord to the cross, the grave and empty tomb. It is a week of sorrow for our sin that took our Savior to the cross but it is with joy that we celebrate His victory over sin and death for us giving us life and salvation.

I am happy to share with you this last month's events where I was able to partner with Colleagues, Pastors and Bishops in a week long teaching seminar in Uganda. Also, check out what the Rabe kids have been up to.

If you know someone who would enjoy our newsletter please share it with them!

We are so grateful for your prayers and support! We are looking forward to seeing many of you this summer as we travel to the US for Home Service.

Your servants in the Gospel,

Mark, Stefanie, Noah, Gabriella, Julianna and Matthias
