Items for Prayer

WE PRAISE GOD FOR

  • His powerful presence in the hearts and minds of a growing number of New Americans.

WE THANK GOD FOR

  • The increasing numbers of New Americans who regularly come to the Peace Center for the fellowship, spiritual nurture and services offered there.
  • Richard Leigh's remarkable recovery from his triple by-pass and heart valve repair surgery.

WE ASK GOD FOR

  • His wisdom as CFNA seeks to address the growing challenge of space limitations at the Peace Center and meeting the needs of refugees, even as the stream of refugee families arriving in St.Louis continues to decline.

DAILY DEVOTION AND CHURCH NEWS: Monday, Sept. 24, 2018

DEVOTION: Psalm 104:27-35 English Standard Version (ESV)

27 These all look to you,
    to give them their food in due season.
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up;
    when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
29 When you hide your face, they are dismayed;
    when you take away their breath, they die
    and return to their dust.
30 When you send forth your Spirit,[a] they are created,
    and you renew the face of the ground.

31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
    may the Lord rejoice in his works,
32 who looks on the earth and it trembles,
    who touches the mountains and they smoke!
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    for I rejoice in the Lord.
35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth,
    and let the wicked be no more!
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!

YESTERDAY'S QUIZ:  What was the meaning of Daniel's dream about the four beasts?  The 4 beasts were the 4 powers that ruled over the Israelites.  The first, the winged lion was Babylon, the second, the bear was Persians, the third, the leopard was Greece, and the fourth, the most dreadful and powerful with 10 horns was Rome.  But there is a more powerful one to come who will have power over all which will happen in the end time who is God.

TODAY'S QUIZ:  What was God's promise to Daniel at the end?
