National Youth Gathering Update

Below is a little newsletter with links to all different sorts of things having to do with the National Youth Gathering.  As I get these emails I will forward them to you all from time to time!!
 
 
Also, one change I have to make.  The date for our meeting will have to change from Mon, July 16 at 6pm to Mon, July 23 at 6pm.  I will have pizza for everyone who comes!  Please let me know whether or not you cna make it so I know you got this email!!!

3…2…1…Happy 1 Year! That's right, in exactly one year from today, we plan to be gathered together as the body of Christ in San Antonio, TX for the 2013 National LCMS Youth Gathering. We look forward to the months of planning and preparation that lie ahead. Here are upcoming key dates to keep in mind:   July 15, 2012 – The Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) application process opens on the Gathering website.  YAVs are those aged 19 -25 years old who serve with interactive learning centers, workshop speakers, servant events, mass events, hotel life and other components of Gathering program. They also work alongside Community Life Builders in many capacities. YAV applications will be accepted until 11:59pm on December 31, 2012. August 2012 - Registration Materials including the pre-Gathering DVD and hotel information will be headed to a congregation near you. September 10, 2012 – Online registration opens on the Gathering website. Be sure to keep checking www.lcmsgathering.com for new Community Life resources that will aid you in the planning process. We have a special request: Youth ministry funding needs a boost As you know, youth ministries play an integral role in shaping and inspiring young minds throughout the country. That's why Thrivent Financial is partnering with us through a Facebook campaign called "Raise the Praise" to create awareness and raise funds for the important work we do. Here's where you can help Support the "Raise the Praise" Challenge: If Thrivent Financial reaches 110,000 fans on their Facebook page by July 31, they will donate $10,000 to youth ministries. Become a Facebook fan today! You can also demonstrate your own generosity by making a personal donation to our ministry.  Make a difference in three easy steps: "Like" Thrivent Financial on Facebook. Share the campaign with family and friends. Make a donation and encourage others to do so as well.
