DEVOTION: Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? Job 11:7
Do you have all the answers? If the President were to ask you about what to do in Syria, would you have the correct answer? Are you the one who always has the advice even if there is no one there to get such wisdom from you? Maybe you just know better than others.
Then again, maybe not. A lot of times we think we know it all until god steps in and shows us that we know nothing. Our "wisdom" gets thwarted by circumstances in life, or by our own futile attempts. We don't get that we are only human and that we don't know everything.
The trouble today is that everyone's opinion is taken as equal to God's Word. We think that we know just as good if not better than God. How silly we are. We have no right to ever even question what God is doing. Instead we should just say, "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" as we do in the Lord's Prayer and be done with it.
Look at your own life today and see whether you are going against God's Word and will. How are you treating your body? Are you exercising and getting the vitamins you need? How are you treating your loved ones? have you ben grumpier than usual? How is your spiritual life?? Have you been praying and studying Scripture as you should? How are your finances? Does God have control of them or do you?
When you realize that you have fallen short in just about every way, then simply acknowledge that you aren't lord of your life, but God is, and let him take control, let him have the reigns. You will be blessed!
Prayer: Lord God, help me to realize that I am not God, You are! Amen.

Side note: Today is 9/11. As we get further and further away from the origin of this fateful day 11 yeas ago, I still vividly remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I saw it on the news. We don't seem to be any further away from it when it comes to terrorism and dealing with terrorists and dictators. Please pray today for our country, our leaders, and our government. Also pray for the Christians throughout the world that continue to be persecuted and killed for their faith. If nothing else, pray that the Lord comes quickly to restore all things to the way he intended it to be
Lord God, bless our government and leaders of our nation as they make tough decisions in the days and weeks ahead. Give them wisdom to make decisions that will be in accord with your will. And give them your peace to make those decisions. Give us peace, we pray, as we remember the anniversary of 9/11 and all that it entails. Help us to know that no matter what happens on this earth or to our mortal bodies our souls are always safe with you. Amen.

I especially want to thank, Rich Boeger, Allan Dreyer, Jennifer Figura, and Lani Heitgerd for being on the committee and helping to bring this thing to fruition. I also wanted to thank Doug Walters and Alan Hofeldt who spent countless hours working on the financial part of it and seeing this thing through from the very beginning. It has truly been and will continue to be a whole congregation effort. Thank you all!!
OUR TOTAL COMMITMENTS FOR THE RE-INVESTING in ETERNITY MINISTRY GROWTH CAMPAIGN up to this point is approximately $140,000!
This is a bit short of us being able to call a DCE from the field, but is more than enough for us to get an intern from one of our Concordia Universities. If you are still contemplating giving to this very worthy cause, please let us know and then make your decision and get your commitment card in. We will hopefully begin the paperwork and the process within the next month or two to have our intern by this coming Summer.

PRAYERS FOR OUR SERVICEMEN
I have been compiling a list of servicemen who are members of St John's so that we can pray for them. Below is a list of them and where they are currently stationed. Please note that their stationing changes quickly, so this may not even be up to date, but it is the last known whereabouts that I have of these guys.
Danny Dreyer- Army- 2nd Lieutenant- Ranger, GERMANY
Sam Hargrove- Army- 2 Lieutenant- Ft Rucker, Alabama, will be going through helicopter flight school and other training
David Mincemeyer- Army- Army Specialist- Ft. Carson, CO
Jon Rahn- Navy- Hawaii, not sure of his rank at this time
David Tate- Air Force- 2nd Lieutenant- Jacksonville, Florida
Alex Walters- Navy- E4- Guam
Ryan Woolf- Air Force- Airman 1st Class- Buckley Air Force Base, near Denver, CO
If there are more out there that I just don't know about, please let me know, and I will include him/her on the list.
Also, if you would like your family member or friend included in this list, please reply to this email with all the information!
Pray for these guys. Some of these guys are in harm's way right now, others are training to put themselves in harm's way. All of them have volunteered to serve and protect their country (which is you).
