DEVOTION:
"Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker?" Job 4:17
Sometimes we think we can tell God something that he doesn't know. Oftentimes we think that we know better than God. We forget that God's Word is first, final, and perfect. We question God. We want to know where he is. We even deny his power and perfection in favor of our own flawed reason and logic.
Maybe you've been doing that lately. The good news is that you don't have to do it anymore. You can have clarity of thought. You can know the truth and the truth can set you free from your fog of uncertainty and sin. It is all right there in God's Word. he gives you the right guidance for your life. He will give you a solid purpose.
Job knew that. Even though he was in great peril and distress, and even though he lad lost everything, he didn't question God, but knew that God has a purpose for his life. He just didn't know what it was. He was in great anguish and pain. He had no family left and even his friends were causing him grief. Yet, because of God's faithfulness to him, he didn't deny God or lose sight of Him.
No matter what you are going through, know that the Lord has not deserted you. He will never leave you or forsake you. But if you want to have real peace you need to go ALL IN with Jesus. If you want to have real peace turn everything over to Jesus, your finances, your relationships, your work, your faith, everything, and you will know REAL peace. Then you will truly know that you are not more righteous than God or that you can ever be more pure than the God who created you.
Prayer: Lord God, bless me in Your mighty wisdom, give me Your strength power and peace. Amen.

OUR TOTAL COMMITMENTS FOR THE RE-INVESTING in ETERNITY MINISTRY GROWTH CAMPAIGN is approximately $140,000!
This is a bit short of us being able to call a DCE from the field, but is more than enough for us to get an intern from one of our Concordia Universities. If you are still contemplating giving to this very worthy cause, please let us know and then make your decision and get your commitment card in. We will hopefully begin the paperwork and the process within the next month or two to have our intern by this coming Summer.

THANK YOU TO SO MANY!!!
I can't thank everyone who helped yesterday and last week with the picnic, because there were just too many to name, and I know I will forget someone.
There are a few that stand out though, especially MIM DUNN, for giving us her beautiful property to use for the afternoon (and even renting a bounce house for the kids), Rich and Peggy Talbert for purchasing all the supplies; Rich Talbert, Steve McDowell, John Hachtel, and Brent Davis for grilling in the rain and getting everything ready, Cindy Klover for doing such a great job with the bingo as always; the many who carried chairs and tables from church on Saturday and back to church Sunday afternoon; and the many who helped clean up!!!
Everyone had a wonderful time!!! Thank you!!

Also, if you would like your family member or friend included in this list, please reply to this email with all the information!
Pray for these guys. Some of these guys are in harm's way right now, others are training to put themselves in harm's way. All of them have volunteered to serve and protect their country (which is you).
