DEVOTION: Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to Him for the lives of your children. Lamentation 2:19
I read this in portals of prayer today. It fits perfectly with our ministry emphasis toward children!
As parents pray for their biological children, let's also pry for our spiritual children.
Eldon is a faithful, single a PhD in veterinary medicine and worked for a large corporation for many years. Though retired, he continues to teach teenagers in our Sunday. He also mentors students in a professional agricultural fraternity at a state university. As Eldon does, let's lift up our hands to the Lord for the lives of our spiritual children.
Parents pray for their own children. May we include our spiritual children on our prayer list, as we work to raise healthy kids in the Word of Christ. We pray that they share life with God in His forever family.
God's plan is for the Gospel to take root and grow through the generations. In love, God gives this major life purpose to all of us, whoever we are, in whatever family status find ourselves.
Prayer: Jesus, we pray for our children, whether related to us by blood or not. Amen.

COMMITMENT CARDS
A few of you have been confused about the commitment cards you filled out. The commitment cards were for the Ministry Growth DCE campaign only, not for the general budget. In other words, the commitment you made on your commitment cards should be separate from your general budget offerings. We still need your regular offerings!!! If you need to make an adjustment please call Rich Boeger at 456-8621.
Please note that since several were confused and wrote down their total offering commitment for the next three years, the total of $140,000 will change slightly.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED WITH OUR MINISTRY GROWTH CAMPAIGN!! I especially want to thank, Rich Boeger, Allan Dreyer, Jennifer Figura, and Lani Heitgerd for being on the committee and helping to bring this thing to fruition. I also wanted to thank Doug Walters and Alan Hofeldt who spent countless hours working on the financial part of it and seeing this thing through from the very beginning. There are tons of others who participated in focus groups, committees, and working with finances.
It has truly been and will continue to be a whole congregation effort. Thank you all!!
OUR TOTAL COMMITMENTS FOR THE RE-INVESTING in ETERNITY MINISTRY GROWTH CAMPAIGN up to this point is approximately $140,000!
This is a bit short of us being able to call a DCE from the field, but is more than enough for us to get an intern from one of our Concordia Universities. If you are still contemplating giving to this very worthy cause, please let us know and then make your decision and get your commitment card in. We will hopefully begin the paperwork and the process within the next month or two to have our intern by this coming Summer.

PRAYERS FOR OUR SERVICEMEN
I have been compiling a list of servicemen who are members of St John's so that we can pray for them. Below is a list of them and where they are currently stationed. Please note that their stationing changes quickly, so this may not even be up to date, but it is the last known whereabouts that I have of these guys.
Danny Dreyer- Army- 2nd Lieutenant- Ranger, GERMANY
Sam Hargrove- Army- 2 Lieutenant- Ft Rucker, Alabama, will be going through helicopter flight school and other training
David Mincemeyer- Army- Army Specialist- Ft. Carson, CO
Jon Rahn- Navy- Hawaii, not sure of his rank at this time
David Tate- Air Force- 2nd Lieutenant- Jacksonville, Florida
Alex Walters- Navy- E4- Guam
Ryan Woolf- Air Force- Airman 1st Class- Buckley Air Force Base, near Denver, CO
If there are more out there that I just don't know about, please let me know, and I will include him/her on the list.
Also, if you would like your family member or friend included in this list, please reply to this email with all the information!
Pray for these guys. Some of these guys are in harm's way right now, others are training to put themselves in harm's way. All of them have volunteered to serve and protect their country (which is you).
