DEVOTION: Luke 24:44-53 English Standard Version (ESV)
44 Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
The Ascension
50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

NEWS AND NOTES:
UPDATES ON PRAYER REQUESTS FROM SANDY ROBINE
Roselynne Johanning only had to stay one night in the hospital and has been home recovering this week. She seems to be doing much better now. Thanks to everyone for their prayers for her.
Our neighbor and friend, Patrice, is home from the hospital and has been going for radiation treatments everyday this week. She is about half way through those. She will begin chemotherapy treatments beginning the week of June 6th. Also, she would appreciate some "back up ubers" to take her to MO BAPT for her scheduled, upcoming, treatments for when either I, or her other friend Julie,
are not available to take her. If you know of anyone, please let me know. Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!!
We could definitely use more people in many areas!!
Altar guild- We need more for set up and to clean up! (Set up can happen anytime Friday or Saturday or even early Sunday morning as long as it's done before 9am worship. Clean up can happen anytime after Monday night worship.)
Tellers/ Offering Counters- Usually happens after 9am worship on Sunday morning.
Readers- We can always use more readers for our 9am worship and if we ever get a lot of them, we'll add them to the 10:45 and Monday services as well.
Projectionists- We can always use more of them for all three of our services.
Pianists/guitarists/instrumentalists- We are always looking to enhance our worship and use all the gifts that God has given our congregation. We could especially use music leaders for our 10:45 and Monday services.
Please consider serving the Lord in one of these areas!! Get involved!
