| | "I felt that I needed to go to the RSTM conference because I myself serve a small town parish in Northeast Missouri. Having just been installed in July, I wanted to learn from other rural or small town pastors because I know I need to learn a lot in how to best serve my people. I grew up in rural parish, and I am accustomed to some of the same things that rural life brings with it. However, the conference gave me an opportunity to see how other pastors work and live in other rural settings. Not all rural settings are the same and to learn that early on is important. I wanted to receive great teaching and ideas of how to make myself the best pastor I can be for the people God has placed in my care. The best way I know how to do that is learn from fellow brothers in similar rural settings," stated Rev .Jacob Hercamp of St. Peter Lutheran Church, La Grange, Mo. |
