| Professional Church Workers' Conference |
| The Missouri District's Professional Church Workers' Conference themed "The Reformation: What Does This Mean for Today?" was held Nov. 14-17, 2017 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. |
| During the conference, nearly 600 district pastors, educators and commissioned LCMS workers built relationships and encouraged one another through worship and fellowship. Attendees heard plenary sessions by Drs. Erik Hermann, Patrick Ferry and Jon Mielke, along with a variety of informative sectionals and continuing education experiences. One of the highlights was the worship service on Thursday morning hosted by Trinity in Altenburg and Concordia in Frohna and featuring the Perry County Lutheran Chorale. |

| Senior High District Youth Gathering A Big Hit! |
| |
| More than 150 Missouri District youth and adult leaders gathered at Crosspointe Camp in Rocky Mount, Mo. the district's first ever Fall Sr. High District Youth Gathering. |
| |
| The theme for the weekend was "Filtered" and the students explored Ephesians 4 and how they view the world. The first session was led by DCE Aaron Hansen, who helped the youth consider how the filters that they view the world through shape their perceptions, and how they could view the world through the filter of a disciple of Jesus. |
| LCMS Rural and Small Town Mission Conference |
| The LCMS Rural and Small Town Mission Conference was held November 9-11 in Kansas City, Missouri. There were attendees from seven congregations across the district, including two recent seminary graduates. |
| "I felt that I needed to go to the RSTM conference because I myself serve a small town parish in Northeast Missouri. Having just been installed in July, I wanted to learn from other rural or small town pastors because I know I need to learn a lot in how to best serve my people. I grew up in rural parish, and I am accustomed to some of the same things that rural life brings with it. However, the conference gave me an opportunity to see how other pastors work and live in other rural settings. Not all rural settings are the same and to learn that early on is important. I wanted to receive great teaching and ideas of how to make myself the best pastor I can be for the people God has placed in my care. The best way I know how to do that is learn from fellow brothers in similar rural settings," stated Rev .Jacob Hercamp of St. Peter Lutheran Church, La Grange, Mo. |
| The conference included Rev. Dr. Greg Seltz as the Bible Study leader. The plenary sessions and sectionals were geared to help pastors and lay leaders to better understand small town communities today. From sessions on teaching of youth and adults to partnerships and lay leadership development, the conference is a popular resource for rural and small town congregations.
