Professional Church Workers' Conference


The Missouri District's Professional Church Workers' Conference themed "The Reformation: What Does This Mean for Today?" was held Nov. 14-17, 2017 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO.

During the conference, nearly 600 district pastors, educators and commissioned LCMS workers built relationships and encouraged one another through worship and fellowship. Attendees heard plenary sessions by Drs. Erik Hermann, Patrick Ferry and Jon Mielke, along with a variety of informative sectionals and continuing education experiences. One of the highlights was the worship service on Thursday morning hosted by Trinity in Altenburg and Concordia in Frohna and featuring the Perry County Lutheran Chorale.

Senior High District Youth Gathering A Big Hit!


More than 150 Missouri District youth and adult leaders gathered at Crosspointe Camp in Rocky Mount, Mo. the district's first ever Fall Sr. High District Youth Gathering.

The theme for the weekend was "Filtered" and the students explored Ephesians 4 and how they view the world. The first session was led by DCE Aaron Hansen, who helped the youth consider how the filters that they view the world through shape their perceptions, and how they could view the world through the filter of a disciple of Jesus.

LCMS Rural and Small Town Mission Conference

The LCMS Rural and Small Town Mission Conference was held November 9-11 in Kansas City, Missouri. There were attendees from seven congregations across the district, including two recent seminary graduates.

"I felt that I needed to go to the RSTM conference because I myself serve a small town parish in Northeast Missouri. Having just been installed in July, I wanted to learn from other rural or small town pastors because I know I need to learn a lot in how to best serve my people. I grew up in rural parish, and I am accustomed to some of the same things that rural life brings with it. However, the conference gave me an opportunity to see how other pastors work and live in other rural settings. Not all rural settings are the same and to learn that early on is important. I wanted to receive great teaching and ideas of how to make myself the best pastor I can be for the people God has placed in my care. The best way I know how to do that is learn from fellow brothers in similar rural settings," stated Rev .Jacob Hercamp of St. Peter Lutheran Church, La Grange, Mo.

The conference included Rev. Dr. Greg Seltz as the Bible Study leader. The plenary sessions and sectionals were geared to help pastors and lay leaders to better understand small town communities today. From sessions on teaching of youth and adults to partnerships and lay leadership development, the conference is a popular resource for rural and small town congregations. The conference will return again to Kansas City in 2018. Watch

The first E2 Conference of 2018 will be held on Jan. 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, MO.

The purpose of the E2 Conference is to Encourage, Equip and connect volunteers in our congregations through practical presentations, partnerships and networking.

Four additional dates & locations across the district! A wide variety of breakout sessions! Attend discussions of interesting topics to assist your congregation and its leaders.

All conferences are Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Missouri District Spring Junior High Retreat

Psalm 103:12 NIV …as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

The Missouri District Lutheran Jr High Retreat is returning this spring on April 6-8, 2018 at Camp Windermere, located nine miles west of Camdenton, Missouri. The theme will be "Forgiven", with a focus on Confession, and the Office of the Keys.

Our presenter & worship leader is Rev. Ken Chitwood, assistant pastor at First Lutheran Church in Gainesville, Florida.

The cost is $120 and registration will open online in January. Early registration is encouraged.

LESA Unveils New Christmas Card Designs to Support Lutheran Education

St. Louis, Missouri - November 16, 2017
- The St. Louis-based
Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA)
has unveiled five brand new student-created designs for its annual Christmas card fundraiser.

The new series features unique, full-color images created by children attending Lutheran schools in the St. Louis area and southern Illinois. The cards are Joy to the World, Joy to the World in Blue, The Best Gift Ever, O Come Let Us Adore Him and Christmas.

Each card includes a different seasonal message and Bible verse. The cards were designed by students at
Salem Lutheran
in Florissant,
St. Paul's
in Des Peres,
Good Shepherd
in Collinsville, IL, and two designs from
Trinity Lutheran
in St. Charles.

The cards are $10 for a pack of 10 cards and envelopes.

The members of Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Road, Lemay, invites you to a "Christmas at Peace" 7:30 pm Friday, December 23; 7:00 pm. The concert is an excellent way to experience the true meaning of Christmas through beautiful music!


The concert will feature the Peace Chancel Choir, Orchestra of Peace and Bells of Peace. All ensembles are under the direction of Peace's Director of Music Ministry, Burnell L. Hackman.

Peace's Senior Pastor Rev. Dennis Kastens will deliver a short message during the concerts.

The concerts are free (a free-will offering will be received) and tickets are not needed.
