The Missouri District hosted an orientation for six vicars and one Deaconess Intern. These students, from both seminaries, are serving their one year internships in Missouri. The orientation included conversation with President Hagan, Rev. Bill Geis and Casey Carlson from the district staff and a tour of a different settings in St. Louis. The visit to Bethlehem Lutheran Church allowed the students to see unique ways that the congregation is reaching out into their community. The Missouri District gathered new pastors and families at Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia on September 11-12 for two days of time in the Word, encouragement and conversation. Recent seminary graduates presented on topics such as devotional life, time management and relationships with elders, followed by table discussions. This past Sunday, September 17, was Sunday School Rally Day and Friendship Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Chapel in North County St. Louis. An Outdoor Service was held, followed by a picnic-style meal and fun and games for all! The public was invited to attend and many new faces were in the assembly. The Early Learning Center and Sunday School Children combined to sing after the Children's Message. Thanks to all who helped make this event a success!

The Missouri District will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation by hosting a series of lectures in university settings and sponsored by local congregations and Lutheran campus ministries.
The first lecture will be held on September 26, 2017 at 7:00 pm

LESA's 5th Annual "Brew in the Lou" Festival will showcase new brews, aged spirits and home-grown entertainmentwhen it returns to the Lily Pond at Francis Park, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, from 1-5 p.m. This year's Brew line-up features more than 40 local, regional and national craft breweries and distilleries- one-stop-tasting for St. Louis craft and spirits fans.

to develop green-space for inner-city youth and families in North City. Humanitri is seeking concrete excavation and rod-iron fencing at-cost, in-kind, or at a reduced rate. Project 1:
Concrete Excavation and pouring - Break up and remove an aging concrete slab from the ministry's lot The slab is 48' x 30' and is 3" deep.
- Pour a small concrete parking lot (10' x 20') for clients on a separate campus lot. Current parking is unlevel dirt/grass.
Project 2:
Rod-Iron Fencing - fencing and installation - Install approximately 120 linear feet of rod iron fencing around a green-space lot for families in North City
- Consider providing the fencing, posts, materials at-cost or a reduced rate
