12 You will say in that day:
"I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away,
that you might comfort me.
2 "Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation."
3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4 And you will say in that day:
"Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.
5 "Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth.
6 Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel."
The older I get, the more that I realize that my strength doesn't just "come from" the Lord, it IS the LORD. He is my strength and my song and He has become my salvation. He doesn't just give me salvation. He IS my salvation. He doesn't just give me strength. He IS my strength.
Does it sound like I'm splitting hairs or that I'm just playing with words? Well, let's look at it this way: Can I breathe without the Lord giving me breath? Can I, by sheer will, make my heart continue to beat indefinitely? Can I make even one hair stay on my head? The way I see it, I have no control over any of my bodily functions without God giving me that control.
How much more should it be with our spirits, our souls? If I'm in control of my soul, then I'm out of control. If God is in control of my soul, then there is complete control. Praise the Lord.
I urge you to give up the idea that you can control yourself. You can't Your very nature, sinful as it is, is totally against the idea. But remember that one of the fruits of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit living in you, is self control. SO I urge you to live by the Spirit so that He may control you.
Prayer: Lord, than you for living in me! Help me to relinquish control to you so that there may truly be control in my life. Amen.

YESTERDAY'S BIBLE QUIZ: What was a city of refuge in the OT? It was a city to which someone who had killed someone accidentally could flee. They will be places of refuge from the avenger so that a person accused of murder may not be killed before he stands trial. Numbers 35:9-15
Joshua 20 verses 2-9 iists the cities of Kedesh, Shechem, Kiriatharba, Bezer, Ramoth, and Golan as cities of refuge (Thanks Don Nolte!)

Unfortunately over the past several years, they have barely broken even on these dinners. The parents usually donate the desserts and even much of the other food out of their own pockets. Without that the youth would probably lose money.
It is especially important that they make money this year, as they will need all they can get to make their goal for the National Youth Gathering in new Orleans.
I want to encourage you all to attend these dinners, and, while there is no set price per person for these dinners, a generous free will offering is strongly encouraged!!
Below is the Menu for each week:
March 2-
taco bar w/all the fixings
desserts
March 9-
pasta
salad
rolls
desserts
March 16-
Fried Chicken
potatoes
corn

As always, thank you for your continued support of the future of Christianity!!!
