St. Louis Lutheran schools enjoyed their final day of 2016 National Lutheran Schools Week (Jan. 24-31). Students celebrated the week with service projects, parties, special dress-up days, fun assemblies, and special person days. Several schools began the week by participating in Sunday worship services that highlighted the blessings of Lutheran education. The theme of this year's week was "Life Together" based on 1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." Lutheran South students sang at the LCMS International Center and three singers were featured on KFUO's Faith N Family with Andy Bates.
Lutheran North students celebrated Special Persons Day (like Grandparents Day) and had a special chapel to celebrate the love of families and the importance of Lutheran education.
| New Missionaries Appointed by LBT Board Five new individuals were appointed to begin missionary service with Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT). At the January 2016 meeting of the Lutheran Bible Translators Board of Directors, five missionary candidates were presented and their appointment was unanimously approved. LCMS Missionaries are looking for people to assist them with the childcare program during the New Missionary Orientation held Feb. 28 through March 11 at the LCMS International Center, 1333 S. Kirkwood Road, St. Louis, MO. The program will run Monday through Friday from 7:15 until about 4:30 each day. Children's ages range from infant through junior high. Childcare workers will be compensated. You must be at least 18 years old and able to be actively involved with the children.
