From John Hachtel: A TIA (Mini-stroke) Update

Joanne drove me to St Joseph West Saturday morning after I sat down at the computer to write minutes of a meeting at church a week ago.  The next thing  I remember Joanne came in and told her I am confused.  At that time I could not remember what I was going to do at the computer and had problems recalling what we did yesterday.  After we were at the hospital, about an hour or so, everything came back.
I was released from the hospital at 11:15 this morning. They did an EEG test today and an Echo-cardiogram.  Saturday afternoon I had a CAT scan, and a chest X-ray.  Yesterday a MRI.  All test looked good.  Now they put a small EKG monitor on your chest (with all the wires).  It monitors you heart 24 hours a day, with the results constantly sent wirelessly to a separate room were people constantly review the data. In short they ran all the test they could possibly do.  So now I'm will take a baby aspirin every day, and a generic Atorvastatin (Lipitor) for cholesterol. Actually my cholesterol is good (180) but the bad was 97.  All the test results indicates it was a TIA.  I have no restrictions.
All of the people at St Joe's West were wonderful.

Joanne and I plan to play couples golf tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers.

John
