DEVOTION: "Don't be alarmed," he (the angel) said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him." Mark 16:6
Unrest, unemployment, unhappiness, un this and un that. It seems like we have so much gloom and doom that there is no hope left.....
Ah, but there is, and it comes in the good news proclaimed by the angel "HE IS RISEN!" At times it is the only hope there is! At other times it lifts us up so that we can live in all the little reminders of His resurrection daily as we live with a family that we love. As we live and move and just be in God's grace. As we eat till we're full. As we work with the gifts and talents he has given us. As we just breathe we live in hope!
That hope, although not fully enjoyed yet, has already been attained in Christ. It is as sure as the sunrise. It is as certain as death and taxes! Even more certain, because death cannot hold us. Only Christ can hold us and He does so in His arms forever!
Don't be alarmed at the trouble happening all around us. These things must take place, but the Lord Jesus is still coming back and when he does REJOICE! For your salvation has finally come in all its fullness!
Pray for all who need to hear this good news. Care for those who are lost and help them find the way, the truth, and the life! Share Christ's love with others in any and every opportunity. Most of all, REST IN GOD's GRACE! Nothing can keep you from him!
Don't be afraid of those who can only harm the body. Bodily harm only lasts while you are in the body. Pain, hurt, depression, anxiety, loneliness, loss all only last for a time! The love of Christ, His mercy, His grace, His paradise, His kingdom all last forever!
Don't be afraid of this world anymore! Take heart! Christ has overcome the world!
CHRIST IS RISEN!!!!! HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!!
Prayer: Lord God, take away all anxiety, worry, and trouble from me. Create in me a new heart O God and renew a right Spirit within me! Amen.

YESTERDAY'S QUIZ: What were Jesus' last words from the cross before he bowed his head and gave up his spirit? "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." and "It is finished."
