DEVOTION: 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! Galatians 1:6-8
You can believe anything you want, but believing it doesn't make it true. You can believe that the earth is flat or that the moon is made of green cheese. Believing it doesn't make it so.
Yet, that is exactly what people try do when it comes to God. Whatever you believe is true for you...... But like I just said just because you believe it, doesn't make it true. In a pluralistic society where we must agree to disagree and live with people who believe differently than we do, this has become the mantra, "Believe what you want to believe". This is a good thing in that we are not forced to confess something else or to bow down to a false god like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It is good that we live in a free country where we are able to worship how, when, and where we want, and that we are able to speak freely about Jesus wherever we are.
At the same time it has its downfalls as well. Jesus becomes just another god among many gods instead of being who He claimed to be, the one true God. People can also get offended when we claim what Jesus claimed about himself and even more offended when we claim that all other religions are wrong.
As with everything else on this earth, you have to take the good with the bad. You have to be able to put up with some things that you really don't like in order to keep the freedom for all that you have. Don't think that just because all religions are considered equal here in the USA that they are all true. They aren't! Jesus' claim that he is the way, truth, and life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him is and will remain true!
Christianity has more physical and historical proof for it than any other religion in the world. We have a Jesus who, historically, rose from the dead and there is no proof anywhere that He didn't. We have a Bible that, despite many claims to disprove its infallibility, has stood the test of time and scrutiny. We have thousands of years of Christians, and thousands of years of Israelites before that who all have the same creation account AND MANY STILL HOLD TO IT AS THE TRUTH DESPITE WHAT YOU HEAR! You can be sure and certain of the faith you have. It's not based on one man's opinion or a bunch of philosophy. It is based on a truth that has stood from the beginning!
Let us pray: Holy Spirit, thank you for the confidence you give to us in faith! Help us to believe in You more each day and let our confidence flow to others. Amen.

YESTERDAY'S QUIZ: Why were the musicians and priests able to stay in the rooms of the temple and why were they exempt from other duties?
Because they worked in the temple day and night. (Their job was a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week job.)
