DEVOTION: Is tasteless food eaten without salt or is there flavor in the white of an egg? I refuse to touch it; such food makes me ill. Job 6:7
I picked this verse because it is kind of funny, and it reminds me of the silly things I like to complain about from time to time. Job is so upset at the world, at life, and at God that he shows his disgust at everything even egg whites and other tasteless foods.
I get like that sometimes. We all do. Maybe it's a full moon. Maybe it's just waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe it is that you've been dealt a bad hand at a point in your life and are having a no good, very bad day, week, year, or life.
The good news is that God hears your complaints. He may not always like them or think they are warranted, but he always hears them and answers them. Sometimes he answers by helping you out of a situation, sometimes by restoring you like he did with Job, sometimes he directs and guides you to count your blessings, and sometimes he simply tells you to suck it up, get over yourself, and deal with it.
It is alright to complain..... sometimes. But as I always say, some people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. Instead, of complaining about everything going on in your life and in the world, look to God and to His Son Jesus for help, for love, and for peace! Count your eternal blessing that is Jesus Christ. Stop looking to the world to satisfy your desires, wants, and needs. If you don't stop it you will always have something to complain about. If you live in Christ and trust in Him for your satisfaction and peace all the things you have to complain about will seem silly and trite.
Yes, egg whites are tasteless and yes, there are many problems in this world, but take heart! Christ has overcome the world!
Prayer: Lord God, keep my focus and my thoughts on you and your Son, Jesus today. Amen.

We raised $552 this past weekend to keep afamily from being evicted. Praise the Lord!

Dear Pastor and members of St. John's congregation,
I just wanted to take the the time to say thank you for the bottom of my heart, words can not express how much I appreciate the gratitude I feel. I fell upon some tough times financially and was on the verge of being evicted with my children from my home. I felt helpless and desperate not to mention very scared.

CHURCH PICNIC WAS SPECTACULAR!!!!
A big thank you to our board of outreach and evangelism (Marv and Molly Hendershot, Kathy and Randy Fischer, and Erv Yoder for planning and preparation! To Kelsey for getting the inflatables, to preschool from the slip and slide, to Steve McDowell and Brent Davis for their grilling skills, to all who stayed to help clean up, and to all who brought food!
Most especially all thanks and praise to God for giving us such a beautiful day and a heart for fellowship and for reaching out to our community!

I called the church to see if Pastor knew of any resources that I could turn to, he offered to have a door offering to help save my family.
I greatly appreciate all the help that I received! You helped to keep my family and me from being evicted. Again thank you so much for being so helpful and so caring.

PRAISE BAND WAS WONDERFUL YESTERDAY!!
They will be playing the first Sunday of every month!! If you'd like to join them with your own abilities they'd love to have you! They can always use more guitar players and drummers, and singers! They could really use a keyboard player and a more experienced drummer.
THEY PRACTICE ON TUESDAYS AT 6PM!!!
