"The Scroll and the Lamb"
5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 And one of the elders said to me, "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals."
6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. 8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying,"Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth."
11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!"
13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"
14 And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.
What a scene! Jesus is sitting on His throne and He is able to open the scroll on which is written all the names of all the saints, including you and me and ALL believers in Christ!
As He takes the scroll everyone falls down and worships Him, and keeps worshiping Him, and doesn't stop worshiping Him forever! Praise the Lord!
I don't know about you, but as I read this vision of heaven I want to be there. As I hear of Christians being persecuted and thousands of them killed in Nigeria and other parts of the world, I want nothing more than to be in heaven with them and be rid of this sinful earth.
As I deal with my own troubles and the troubles of others it makes me want to get to heaven that much sooner. As I am a pastor and I see how people often stray from Jesus, and how they neglect worship, I just want Jesus to come back and be in heaven so that we no longer have that temptation or that choice. I WANT TO WORSHIP JESUS FACE TO FACE FOREVER!!
How about you? Let's all look forward to that day with peace and joy so that others see our joy and peace want what we have! Let's keep the grumbling and judging to a minimum and the praise and adoration to a maximum. Let's show the world that we really do love Jesus!! Let's forgive as He ahs forgiven us! Let's love as He has loved us! Let's live in peace as he has breathed peace into us!
Prayer: Lord, as I live in this sinful world and wait for Your return, help me to wait with peace and joy and be busy doing Your work. Amen.

"The Conversion of Saul"
9 But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4 And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" 5 And he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6 But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do." 7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8 Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9 And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
10 Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord." 11 And the Lord said to him, "Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, 12 and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight." 13 But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name." 15 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name." 17 So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." 18 And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; 19 and taking food, he was strengthened."Saul Proclaims Jesus in Synagogues"
For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. 20 And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is the Son of God." 21 And all who heard him were amazed and said, "Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?" 22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.
What makes something more believable than having an enemy of it turn to it? I imagine that there was nobody more zealous than Saul (who became Paul) for the persecution of Christians. He would have been the Saddam Hussein or the Osama Bin Laden of his day. So when Jesus knocks him off his high horse and blinds him so that he may truly see Jesus for who He truly is, there is nothing that could be more pure Godly genius.
It's not something we think off when it comes to our enemies. We want to destroy our enemies. We want to annihilate them and rid ourselves of them, but what does Jesus tell us to do? He tells us to LOVE our enemies, and PRAY FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE US.
What better way to get rid of an enemy than to bring him or her over to your side. You're not going to do that with hate. The only way it is going to happen is with patience and love.
Now, I'm not saying that every enemy will be won over. There will be some who will hate you or your country or your Religion till they die, whether it be by the hands of an army or the hand of God is up to Him. What I am saying is that GOD WANTS HIS WILL TO BE DONE, and it's always better for you if it is done in you and with you than in spite of you and against you.
Take the lesson for God's dealings with Paul. Don't ever think that there's something that God can't or won't do. He might even do what He does through you and in you.
Prayer: Lord, help me to release my will to You, and to do Your will instead. Amen.

"Joy Comes with the Morning"
A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple.
30 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.
3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.[a]
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.[b]
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.[c]
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
"I shall never be moved."
7 By your favor, O Lord,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.
8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 "What profit is there in my death,[d]
if I go down to the pit?[e]
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!"
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
I'm a little tired this morning. Being at a Junior High Youth Gathering for a whole weekend, having your group play a prank on you for April Fools Day, listening to a good, but loud band, and sleeping in the same room with seven 12-14 year olds will all do that to you. You'd think that I would have no joy, but joy comes with the morning!
I'm getting older. My muscles hurt a little more. It takes me a little longer to recover from this kind of stuff, but joy still comes with the morning. It comes because CHRIST IS RISEN! Say it with me...... He is risen indeed!
Because Christ is risen, because He is alive, I will live too, and joy fills my heart as I remember that! Despite my circumstances, despite my exhaustion, despite the troubles that so many others around me are going through, JOY COMES!!
Let me tell you why I have joy..... "I know that my redeemer lives, and in the end He will stand upon the earth, and even after my skin has turned back to dust, yet, in my flesh I will see God. I, myself, will see Him with my own eyes!"
May this truth give you the same joy I have today!
Prayer: Lord, make the joy of your salvation come into my heart today. Amen.
