Kids Sunday school canceled for Dec. 28th
Since many people will be out of town and we don't have the late service on Sunday, I have decided that Sunday School for the kids will be cancelled as well. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Two more prayer requests
1. For Annette Clinger, wife of retired teacher John Clinger. Annette will be undergoing serious heart surgery to repair a problem. Many folks of our congregation know the Clingers - an awesome couple. Her surgery was for yesterday, Dec. 22, but a low grade infection delayed that. So it may be today or tomorrow.
2. For the Klaustermeier family, as my Aunt Lois Richardson passed away yesterday. She was only 54 but had severe diabetes, both legs amputated, was undergoing dialysis, and was going into surgery to have a pacemaker put in when she passed away.
Two prayer requests
1. Please pray for Claire Johnson, a member of our church who has been a shut in for a long time, as she has a large mass on her lung and is in the nursing home in Wentzville.
2. From Ron WIlliams: Please pray for my sister in law (my brothers wife) . She has been diagnosed with lung cancer . She has started radiation and chemo. As of today she is back in the hospital the fear is that the treatments are affecting her heart and is doing a stress test today.

DEVOTION: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:2-4
This is what Christmas is all about. It is about knowing God and Jesus our Lord. It is about God coming down, putting all off his Almighty power into a baby, His own Son, His only Son, Jesus! It is about Jesus coming down, keeping all off His authority and yet making Himself nothing, a servant, becoming obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
It is about Him lifting us up out of the muck and mire of sin and cleaning us off to make us holy, perfect and righteous before His Almighty throne.
It is about Him giving us all his precious promises and by them His own power so that we can participate in His divine nature and escape the corruption of the world forever.
It is about Jesus! It's always about Jesus. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves and causing nothing less than falsehood to rule in their lives.
I urge you to make this week all about Jesus! Share your faith with your loved ones. Don't hide it under a bushel, or deep in your heart, or just out of view of those who are dying without it. Make it known! If there is someone who needs forgiveness... GIVE IT!! If there is someone who needs to hear the words "I'm sorry" from you and know you mean it, there is no better time than now!!! DO IT!
That is your purpose! Make sure everyone knows you love Jesus and knows that you believe in the forgiveness, love, and grace that Jesus gives!
Prayer: Lord, help me to make this week all about you and your love. Amen.
