| Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ | ||||||
| Sharing the Absolute Certainty of Eternal Live | ||||||
| as we Tell the Good News about Jesus! | ||||||
| Thank you for hosting a team of Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ. We hope that our time together was a blessing for your congregation as we joined in service to carry the message of eternal life through Christ to your community. Our 3-fold purpose: | ||||||
| 1. Witness to all about Jesus as the Savior! | ||||||
| 2. Invite the unchurched to the congregations we serve! | ||||||
| 3. Train youth and adults to confidently share their faith | ||||||
| You have encouraged us by: | ||||||
| Praying for God's blessing on our outreach; | ||||||
| Providing housing, meals, and transportation; | ||||||
| Joining us in reaching out to your community; | ||||||
| Allowing us to participate in the worship services; | ||||||
| Supporting OAFC with prayers and a financial gift. | ||||||
| In our witness-survey we made | 93 | calls. | ||||
| Gospel literature was left at | 116 | houses where no one was | ||||
| home. When we asked, "Where do you believe you will go when | ||||||
| you die?" Most Answered "Heaven." When we asked, "Why do | ||||||
| you believe you will go to heaven?" | ||||||
| 29 | said because Jesus lived and died for them; | |||||
| 13 | hoped they were living good enough lives; | |||||
| 12 | were not sure of going to heaven; | |||||
| 39 | did not answer the question or complete the survey. | |||||
| We shared with all who would listen that Jesus gave His life to pay | ||||||
| for all their sins so they can be sure of going to heaven. | ||||||
| 11 | of those we shared this with were unchurched. | |||||
| Through our visits we also discovered | ||||||
| 8 | unchurched individuals who would welcome another visit, | |||||
| and that were interested in visiting the church. | ||||||

Daily Devotion: Monday, November 10, 2014
If you've ever been up on the pulpit at St. John's you've seen this verse attached to the pulpit in big metal letters so that you can't miss it. I'm not sure who permanently put this verse in metal plates up there, but it is fantastic! (If someone reading this knows who did that I'd like to know.) It is an excellent reminder of what a pastor should clearly preach every time he gets up into that place. If a congregational member doesn't hear clearly that Jesus is the reason for their salvation and eternal life, the pastor hasn't done a good job.
Sometimes, even the pastor gets clouded in his thinking as the devil tries to worm his way in to our brains and confuse us. We need a constantly weekly reminder of our sinfulness and our need for a Savior. It sounds overly simplified, and maybe it is, but that is the job of the preacher. It is to convict each of the hearers of their sinfulness (preach them to the gates of hell) and then share with them the rescue from it (get them up off their knees and let the grace of Christ carry them to heaven.)
Anything else is, as good of a life lesson as it may be, or as entertaining as it may seem, or as engaging as the story might seem, takes second to the life saving purpose of the pure, unadulterated Gospel!
I was reminded of that this weekend as OAFC was here. Their sole purpose is to get the Gospel out to as many people as possible, and then let the Gospel do its work. They aren't flashy. They don't have trickery or salesmanship. They are straightforward Gospel presenters. They are ongoing ambassadors for Christ!
Let's all be ongoing ambassadors for Christ to the point that when people see us they don't even see us as much as they see Jesus in us! Let's represent HIM in all we say and do!
Prayer: Lord God, they want to see you! Let them see You in me. Amen.

Daily Devotion: Thursday, November 6, 2014
There are some 20 or more churches in the Warrenton area. Despite that, only half of the people in Warren County claim to have a church or be a member of a church. Out of the 50% that do, there are many who claim a church that have not been to that church in quite a while. There are a lot of people who are hungering and thirsting for JESUS!
It means that the HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL!
It means that there are people in our community who are drifting away from Jesus and need to be brought back to Him gently and lovingly.
It means that there are many who have never heard of the love and forgiveness of Jesus and they need ot hear it from you, because you know them.
It means inviting people to God's house for worship and then doing whatever it takes to get them there.
It means giving forgiveness to people that you don't particularly like because they sinned against you.
It means sharing the Gospel in your daily life with people you work and live with, because you know that without it they are going to hell.
It means praying unceasingly for your loved ones who you know are outside of God's kingdom because of their unbelief.
It means loving the unlovable with Christ's love.
It means caring for those who need care.
It means being an ambassador for Christ everywhere you go!
That is what Jesus sent the 72 out to do. They were sent to prepare the way for Jesus to come to them. They were sent to get them ready for Jesus by preaching, healing, and driving out demons, all by the power of the Holy Spirit.
That is what Jesus is sending you to do too. Well, maybe not to heal physically, but you can provide the Spiritual medicine a person needs to be healed spiritually. Maybe not to drive out demons, but you can drive out the hatred and the sin with God's forgiveness.
What a privilege it is to be sent by Jesus. It isn't a drudgery. It isn't a burden. It is a privilege and a joy! I get no more joy than when I am telling someone about Jesus, or baptizing someone, or caring for someone with Jesus' love. It is the biggest rush and the biggest joy I ever get!
No amount of vacation, beautiful scenery, good food, or of any earthly thing gives me as big a joy and satisfaction as does sharing Christ! I want that for you today too. Get to it! Share Christ! GO!
Let us pray: Lord, get me up on my feet so I can GO! Amen.
P.S. ONGOING AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST WILL BE HERE THIS WEEKEND DOING THE ABOVE THINGS!! YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO JOIN THEM REGARDLESS OF YOUR AGE!! THEY'D LOVE IT IF YOU WOULD JOIN THEM!!! They will be at church beginning at 8am Saturday morning till Sunday after lunch! Come and be a part of it!!
