DEVOTION: After these things, during the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, the of Hilkiah,
the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son ofd Ahitub, the son of Amariah, theson of Azariah, the son Meraioth, the son of
Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki, son of Abishua, the son of Phineas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief
priest-- this Ezra came up from Babylon. Ezra 7 1-2

SOunds like a bunch of nothing doesn't it? But there is a reason for this listing. It is to show the direct descent of Ezra to
Aaron to show his authority. It also shows God's plan from beginning to middle, the end, of course, being Christ.

God always has a plan for you. Even in the middle of all yoru mishaps and mess ups, He is still working out His plan in you.
Even before you were born in your great grandfather and mother God had you planned out.

This gives us great peace because we know that even if we mess up and even if we continue to sin, God will work out His plan of
salvation in Christ Jesus just like He had His plan of saving the Israelites and bringing them back to him and Ezra, from the
time of Aaron, was part of that plan.

God has a great plan for you. Through your very life, through your actions. and through your speech God will bring people to
himself. he will save people through you and most of the time, in spite of you. What a great thing! Ezra was a man no
different from you, yet God planned to do great things through him, and He did.

Prayer: Lord God, help us to know your will for our lives that we might fully show you in all we say and do, so that all might
come to know of your salvation. Amen

CATECHESIS:
Question: What is the Sacrament of the Altar?
Answer: It is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ under the bread and wine, instituted by Christ Himself for us
Christians to eat and to drink.
Question #2: Where is this written?
Answer #2: Our Lord Jesus Christ on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He has given thanks, He broke it and gave it
to the disciples and said: "Thake, eat; this is My body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of me."

In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had gien thanks, He gave it to them saying, "Drink of it, all of
you; this cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you
drink it, in remembrance of Me."

PASTORAL VISITS
I would like a chance to meet with you in your home. There are quite a few families whose homes I have not been in during my
seven years as your pastor. By this time next year I would like to say that I have been in every member's home. Why? Because a
shepherd (pastor) should care fully for his flock (you).

Please expect a call from me in the coming year especially if I've never been to your home before. Feel free to call me first
and invite me to your house. I will make time to come to you if and when you call. My purpose in this is simply to get to know
you better, pray with you, and encourage you in your faith.

COMMITMENT VISITORS
The last thing for which we need voluteers is our commitment visitation. All it requires is that you act as a courier. You go
to a family's home, ask for their "Investing in Eternity" commitment card, if they haven't filled it out you may have to wait for
them to do that, and then you bring it to church. Please volunteer for this!! Call Sandy Robine at 456-4061 to volunteer.
